McAuley’s Women in Medicine visit Advanced Cosmetic Surgery & Laser Center
McAuley’s Women in Medicine is an academic program of McAuley High School in partnership with Mercy Hospital Mt. Airy. This four year program is open to incoming freshmen who have above average standardized test results and have excellent/very good academic grades at their grade schools.
Today they visited with Dr. Jon Mendelsohn at Advanced Cosmetic Surgery & Laser Center. The students received an overview of the practice, a question/answer session with Dr. Mendlesohn and observation of a surgical procedure.
Dr. Mendelsohn is dedicated to the education of our community and took the time out of his busy schedule to teach and explain his surgical center and practice.

The Mendelsohn Foundation for the Arts
Not only is Dr. Mendelsohn committed to help positively change the lives of individual patients by helping them to look and feel their best, he is also committed to giving back to the community at large. The Mendelsohn Foundation for the Arts provides children the opportunity to explore the world of the Arts through activities that educate, develop, and stimulate their sense of self-image and promote increased awareness of self and others through the Arts.
Dr. Mendelsohn recently sponsored “The Butterfly Project” part of an art celebration at Miami University. Children were invited to pain and then assemble a butterfly wind chime.

Ask the Doctor
Jeff from Cincinnati asks:
I don’t like my nose and I’m not sure what I should have done to correct my appearance. I’ve been having a hard time breathing and would like it to be fixed in conjunction with having rhinoplasty.
Dr. Mendelsohn’s response:
Jeff, Rhinoplasty is surgery to reshape the nose. We can correct your nose to make it smaller, reduce the bridge of the nose, narrow the nose, make changes to the nasal tip and other appearance concerns. We are also able to correct functional problems including nasal obstruction and breathing problems. The functional and aesthetic problems are often addressed at the same time. When you come in for your consultation we can examine your nose to provide you with the best options. Computer imaging can also be helpful to communicate anticipated results.
