Forehead Lift (Brow Lift)
THE PREOPERATIVE FEATURES
- Comments about looking older, sad, stern, angry, or
tired.
- Wrinkle lines across the forehead from constantly having
to hold the eyebrows up to see better.
- Deep furrow lines between the eyebrows.
- Sagging, drooping eyebrows that push down and create
more skin and hooding on the upper eyelids.
THE PROCEDURE
- An incision inside the hairline above the forehead
that allows for pulling up loose skin and sagging eyebrows,
removal of muscles that cause wrinkles, and removal of excess
skin and scalp.
- MAC anesthesia can be used and it takes about one hour.
THE RECOVERY
- You can go home after several hours.
- You can shower on the day after surgery.
- No drains are used.
- Minimal pain that is mostly gone by the second or third
day and easily controlled by medications.
- Swelling which is mild to moderate and peaks at two
to three days after surgery then disappears rapidly over
the next three weeks.
- Minimal bruising of the forehead, eyes, and cheeks
which is maximized at two days post-op then disappears
rapidly by three to five days.
- Able to apply make-up in three to four days and comfortably
appear in public at that time.
- Resume minimal activities within the first week, and
all after two weeks.
- Stitches removed at seven days.
- Off of work for five to seven days.
THE RESULT
- Very natural, rested, younger appearance.
- Better vision and no more heaviness to the eyelids.
- Return of the eyebrows to a more natural position.
- Natural and presentable appearance in the first week
that just gets better over the next three to six months.
