Are you bothered by darker coarser hair, in places
you don't like or expect? Are you tired of tweezing,
shaving, waxing, chemical depilatories? Don't
want to bother with slow painful electrolysis?
Laser Hair removal may be the answer you've been
looking for!
Frequently asked Questions:
Is the treatment painful?
The laser light pulses for a fraction of a
second, and is delivered by a special contact-
cooled hand piece, that protects and cools the
upper layer of skin, before, during and after
each pulse, while directing the laser energy
to the hair root. It produces a quick tingling
sensation, similar to the quick light snap of
a rubber band.
How long before I can return to work?
The appearance of the treated area varies
from patient to patient depending on the extent
of treatment however immediate after effects,
if any, are minor. Most people return to normal
activity right away.
What are the side effects?
Most side effects are minor. They may include
redness and swelling, which disappear in a short
time.
Why do I need more than one treatment?
Hair has three distinct phases; anagen, the
active growth phase; catagen, the regression
phase, and telogen, the resting phase. Laser
hair removal is effective on the hairs in the
active growth phase, when the follicle is largest,
and the hair contains the most pigment. Since
the hairs are all in different phases, a minimum
of three or more treatments is required depending
on skin type and hair density.
Is this laser FDA approved?
Yes. It is FDA approved for permanent reduction
of hair.
