The Mendelsohn Foundation for the Arts provides children the opportunity to explore the world of the Arts through activities that educate, develop, and stimulate their sense of self-image and promote increased awareness of self and others through the Arts.


Face to Face International - Helping Children Throughout the World Learn about butterflies at the Monarch event

Learn all about the fascinating world of butterflies from our wacky butterfly catcher, Nathaniel Monarch. You'll see how a caterpillar transforms into a beautiful butterfly and learn how you can also change every day. This summer each participant painted three bisque fired ceramic butterflies in dazzling colors and then strung them up to make a set of butterfly wind chimes. This event was sponsored by the Dr. Jon E. Mendelsohn Foundation for the Arts.
