Midfacelift (Cheek Lift)

THE PREOPERATIVE FEATURES

  • Hollow under eye area with a deepening of the tear trough.
  • “Falling” cheeks, resulting in hollowness of the central face, developing jowls, and increased laugh lines.
  • Deepening of the nasolabial folds due to downward progression of cheeks and skin.
  • Loss of the high cheekboned look of youth.
  • Desire for a more youthful look, with clearer definition of facial features.

THE PROCEDURE

  • Three incisions are used.
  • One incision is inside the mouth, to release the tissue from the malar eminence (cheekbone), which is to be lifted.
  • The second incision is below each eye, directly under the eyelashes.
  • The third incision is within the temporal hairline. This incision is used to fixate the lifted tissue to the deeper fascia.
  • All of the incisions are extremely esthetic and well hidden.
  • Lasts about 1 hour

THE RECOVERY

  • You can shower on the day after surgery.

  • May wear makeup in three to five days, and appear in public, if desired.
  • Resume minimal activities within the first week, and all after two weeks.
  • Stitches removed at five to seven days.
  • Off of work for one week

THE RESULT
